The Annual Experience Films Showcase is founded by the Arkansas division of CAFLA, Creative Arts Forum, Los Angeles. CAFLA's overall goal is to leverage resources and community contacts to support artist, film makers, and performance artists in Los Angeles and Northwest Arkansas.
Experience Films will provide a venue for the unique abstract and experimental, short format, filmmaker. The annual NWA event is offered to showcase film makers with a passion and an expertise for the experimental genre. The aim of experimental filmmaking is to render the personal vision of an artist, or to promote interest in new technology. Our goal is to present short films characterized by the absence of linear narrative, the use of various abstracting techniques—out-of-focus, painting or scratching on film, rapid editing—the use of asynchronous (non-diegetic) sound or even the absence of any sound track.
Experience Films, will announce a quarterly Film Club to provide support, education and resources for local film makers to continue creating experimental short films
The quarterly Film Club will offer:
- Film production resources
- Film technology education
- Mentors for film makers
- Film industry guest speakers
